Mixed Media using Ken Oliver's Colorburst

Today's post is one of my Mixed Media projects that I made for a friend. It is on a piece of wood panel from Zutter and is the front of a notebook yet to be made, like Lisa Hoel had done. I also took Lynne Forsythe's inspiration of using Wendy Vecchi's embossing paste through Tim Holtz's Hearts stencil then drying it and adding Ken Oliver's Gamboge Colorburst powder, then spritzing it with water.  But the first thing I did was to use Pan Pastels in red and yellow on a piece of Watercolor paper. This sentiment is Impression Obsession by Yvonne Blair's which was stamped with Versamark.  After I die cut the Sizzix Caged Bird onto a slick paptern paper I added Viva Crackle Paste, dried it and then after dry I again added Ken Oliver's Colorburst in Cerulean Blue, and then added the Gamboge again. The flower is Stampendous Lovely Garden Jumbo and die, stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black ink, onto watercolor paper.  Sprinkled with Ken Oliver Colorburst in Scarlet amd Spritzed with water and layered a little more. The colors I used all were from Ken Oliver's Color Burst Rich Moroccan Shades and I love them!! The last step was taking the wood piece and Stayz On black ink onto the edges before glueing it down with Beacons 3 in One adhesive.
Well, that's all for me now! Enjoy!

Scrapbook.com Color Combo

I used a premade layout I had bought on that day, and then used Un-do to remove all the parts that didn't match with my theme such as the sandals, but left the map. I added the shopping bags via my Cricut Explore of course!!  All three bag shapes were from Mickey and Friends cartridge. I added the small flowers and BLACK bling to them to stay in the color combo. The tiles were cut from the Cricut Craft Room freebie! The papers were from my stash and the scallop was already cut. I made it a pocket and put journaling and "passport" we used for the day in it.
I love it and can't believe we did this!! We did it all in ONE day!!! 437 miles!!!! Crazy!! Never again!!

Scrapbook Generation Layout Boston Freedom Trail

Using My Minds Eye Kate & Co. papers, I scraplifted from this Scrapbook Generation sketch and made this layout for some of my many Boston trip pics.  I added wood pieces I'd picked up from Michaels. I enjoy going by a sketch or scraplifting another's layout since it's like using a recipe and helps get our many photos onto beautiful layouts! Hope it helps you as well!

House Mouse Bird Feeder and Lavender Spring Card

This is a card for my sister because her favorite color is purple or lavender so have made this specifically for her. Using the House Mouse Stamp Lavender Birdfeeder cling I received from Asia King she sent to me. Wasn't that sweet? I feel so lucky to have such sweet friends via the internet.  Here's the official stamp #426496 House Mouse. I stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black ink, and the Copics were: C01, BV0000, BV00, BV02, BV04, BV08, V12, V115, YG11, YG06. And then highlighted with a White gel pen.
Die Cutting: Used Petite Large Square frame and 2 of the extra dies that come with the set.
The front panel was cut from Making Memories Purple pattern paper. I then folded a piece of 6.25"x 12" Lavender Bazzil for it's card making strength making sure that it would not cut across the fold, I die cut The large frame again. Cut out 2 white inserts for the image on the front, and the insert inside. Also, the flowers outside cut twice to layer and make the flower blossom. Cut the extra flower under the rose on the bow. Also, die cut "Happy Birthday" from Paper Smooches for the sentiment. Roses are from my stash. Cardstocks are Bazzill in lavender and green.
Assembling: I layered the larger frame to the front panel of the die cut card shape, and threaded ribbon through all the holes all around. The bow is addition to that, made with three loops on each side. After coloring the House Mouse image with my Copics and keeping a lavender feel to the pic, I added white gel dots to each of the stems, birds, and mouse. The shadow is actually BV000, to stay on a true purple/lavender feel.
Added lace to the edge of the colored panel and glued onto the large purple frame.
Added the die cut flower blossom, with Viva Gel drops to the flower centers. Stamp sentiment reads, "May your day be filled with Sunshine and flowers".
The Ribbon is May Arts 5/8" wide, sheer iridescent organza in Fuchsia.
